Add To the Turkish Mauser Serial Number Database. A database of serial numbers is being maintained as a research project. The basic goal of the research is to identify the high and low serial numbers by model and year. The results of this research will be provided on the web site. The raw data will not be made public. A cartridge is a single round of ammunition, not part of a gun. I think you meant receiver. Speaking of cartridges, the Argentine Mauser was originally chambered for the 7.65x53 Mauser round, also known as the 7.65mm Argentine Mauser, or 7.65mm Belgian Mauser. They are all different designations for the same ammunition. Argentine Mauser questions. Discussion in 'Rifle Country' started by TheAntibubba, May 6, 2007. TheAntibubba Member Joined: Feb 8, 2004. Guest | A number of years ago I purchased a 1909 Argentine Mauser in 7.65 Argentine. This rifle is beautiful. The action is smooth as silk, the bluing is original and 95%. The bore looks as though it just came off the rack brand new. The stock is in great shape with just a few 'character' marks. There are no import stamps anywhere. ALL parts have the same 4 digit serial number. The Argentine crest is stamped on the ring. The cleaning rod has an anchor stamped on the end of it. I believe this would be because it was actually issued to the Argentine Navy. On the reciever is stamped 'Mauser Modelo Argentino 1909' and 'DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN BERLIN'. The seriaL NUMBER IS k 7982 (on all parts including the stock) Can anyone tell me what the value of this rifle might be. Also, what can anyone tell me about the rifle from the stampings and the serial number. I paid 265.00 for this piece and I realize it probably isnt worth this much, however, it would take considerably more to take it off of my hands. Deo Vindice Resurgam SouthNat |

I have a rifle marked on the receiver Mauser Modelo Argentino 1909. Serial number is matching on the receiver, bolt, floor plate, cleaning rod, and stock. Are there any other places that have a serial number on the in this model Mauser?
Except for some dings in the wood and a little darkening of the rear bolt area it looks like new and original.
It will not chamber new Privi Partizan brass marked 7.65x53 but will chamber and extract new 7mm brass.
It appears to have a .276 bore and a .285 groove. I pounded a 7mm cast bullet into the muzzle for these measurements made with a dial caliper. A RCBS 30-165-SIL will not even begin to enter the bore.
The barrel is 29 and 1/8 inch long from the muzzle to the bolt face. 4 groove and as close as I can measure a 8 1/2 inch twist.
The rifle does not look like it has been rebarreled.
Were these rifles chambered for cartridges other than the 7.65x53?
What do I have?
